If you’re looking for inspo, look no further. This savoury, tangy breakfast recipe is one of our favourite ways to rise and shine. Made with our New D’Italiano® with GUSTO!™ Bagels, here’s how to serve up a New York-style breakfast bagel that your tastebuds will thank you for.


  • 1 D’Italiano Gusto black and white sesame bagel, lightly toasted
  • 2 slices peameal bacon
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 egg, fried
  • ½ medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon  grainy  mustard
  • Handful of arugula

How to make

  • Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat, then set aside.
  • Over medium heat, fry the egg with 1 teaspoon of butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  •  Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil and lightly sauté onions until translucent. Season with salt to taste.
  •  Spread mustard over the bottom portion of the bagel, top with bacon, red onion, egg and arugula.
