Ingredients:
The inspiration for this amazing sandwich is from my husband. The aroma of caramelized onions is so inviting to him he races to the kitchen to see what I am cooking. The key is to cook the sage leaves until crispy. Ingredients: 4 D'Italiano Thintini Whole wheat buns. 2 onions thinly sliced, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 2 tablespoons sugar, 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, 8 fresh sage leaves, more for garnish, 1 pound roasted turkey sliced thinly, 1 small wheel brie, tomatoes and sage leaves as garnish.Directions:
Put 2 tablespoons olive oil in fry pan over medium heat, add sliced onions, cook until tender 20 - 30 minutes. Sprinkle with sugar, cook for 4 minutes, add balsamic vinegar, cook until no liquid remains. Take thintini buns, brush with olive oil, put smoked turkey on bottom, heat in oven at 350. Take 1 tsp olive oil, heat, add sage leaves cook until crispy, remove. Top turkey with brie, onions, crumbled sage, put top bun on, heat until brie melts.
