Ingredients:6 links of fresh spicy Italian sausage links
1 purple onion thinly sliced
5 to 6 sweet peppers (combine yellow, orange and red peppers), sliced
5 cloves of garlic – smashed
4 tablespoons olive oil
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon chili flakes
D’Italiano Italian Style Sausage Buns
1 cup shredded Asiago cheese
Directions:Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place the sausage in a 9 by 13 glass dish. With a fork poke holes in the sausage. Add the onions, peppers, and garlic around the sausage.
Sprinkle with olive oil, salt and pepper.
Bake uncovered for about 50-60 minutes.
When sausage is ready take 6 D’Italiano Style Sausage Buns and brush the inside of each bun with oil from the sausage mixture.
Place in the oven to toast lightly. Remove and spread the bottom half with shredded Asiago cheese. Return to oven until cheese has melted.
Remove from oven and top each bun with a sausage link and juicy peppers and onions.
