Ingredients:
- 2 slices of D'Italiano Original Thick Slice bread
- 75g of Cambozola cheese thinly sliced
- 2 slices of prosciutto
- 1/4 Bosc pear thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon of honey
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch of coarse pepper
- 1 tablespoon of butter
Directions:
- Butter the outside of both D'Italiano slices
- Dress 1st D'Italiano slice with prosciutto, cheese, drizzle honey on top, then add pear slices.
- Place second D'Italiano slice firmly on top.
- Use a sharp, round cookie cutter to cut out the centre of your sandwich (centre makes for a great mini sandwich).
- Place hollowed out sandwich in a non-stick pan on medium heat.
- Crack the egg and pour it into the hollow centre of the sandwich, immediately adding some cracked pepper to the egg.
- Once the egg starts to cook, carefully flip over sandwich to brown top side.
- Grill to desired brownness and presto!, the Cambozola Grilled Cheese Surprise is ready to serve.
- Goes well with a balsamic arugula salad.
