Ingredients:
1/3 loaf D'Italiano original garlic bread
125 grams deli garlic roast beef
1/4 cup crispy fried onions (find in the salad section of your grocery store)
1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
1/2 cup brown mushrooms
Aus Jus
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can beef broth
1/4 cup red wine
1/2 tsp each of dried basil, thyme and oregano
2 tbsp each of soy sauce and worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp minced onion
1 tbsp minced garlic
2 tsp olive oil
Directions:
Start by making the Aus Jus.
1. Heat oil and sautee garlic and onions and herbs. About1 minute.
2.Add wine and soy and worcershire and bring to a boil. Stir constantly and reduce to half.
3. Add beef broth and simmer 5 minutes. Keep warm while you go to the next step.
Sandwich
1. Slice garlic bread in thirds.
2. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.
3. Slice and sautee mushrooms until tender. Set aside.
4. Take 1/3 of garlic bread, split open with butter side up and heat in oven 5 minutes.
5. Remove bread from oven and heap with mushrooms, roast beef and top with crumbled blue cheese.
6. Return to oven for addition 4-5 minutes until cheese begins to melt.
7. Remove bread from oven and top with crispy onions.
8. Now, enjoy your beef dip with your Aus Jus....mmmmm. The chewy and crispy garlic bread makes this the best sandwich you will ever eat. If you dare, add a little horseradish too. Enjoy.
