Tarts D'Italiano !

Ingredients:16 -18 slices D'Italiano white sesame seed bread buttered
1 lb lean ground beef
1 can mushroom soup
1/4 cup onion (chopped)
1 beaten egg
1/2 cup aged cheddar (grated)
1/2 cup bread crumbs (made from D'Italiano left over bread)
Salt & pepper & seasonings to taste
Optional Toppings: Sliced cheddar, bacon rosettes, BBQ Sauce.
Directions:Trim crusts off buttered bread slices. Place slices, buttered side down in muffin tins and shape in. Combine remaining ingredients. Fill bread cups (heaping full) with meat mixture. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes.
If desired, 5 minutes before removing from oven, top with cheese or brush with BBQ sauce. Return to oven for last 5 minutes.
Substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken and use cream of celery soup poultry seasoning.
Have fun with these cupcakes!!!! The key is the crust made out of D'Italiano bread but play with the toppings and garnishes. They are great cold in lunches, and they freeze well too. Why not enjoy them for a kids party and decorate with smiley faces? The kids will love them. Enjoy.
